Taichi is a tool for emotional and physical grounding, promoting good posture, efficient movement, whole body circulation and gentle mindfulness. A metaphor for spiritual principles, it is both exercise and a vehicle for experiencing integrity and grace. With regular practice, taichi leads to an ever greater sense of inner peace.
I teach in a lighthearted way with humor, lots of personal interaction and intimate class sizes. My goal is to make the learning fun and enjoyable while making the study practical and applicable to daily life. I use teaching stories from my teachers, Buddhist teachings, and my own experiences to convey the deeper significance of the movements.
I have been studying taichi in the lineage of Cheng Man-ching since 1991, mostly with Ed Young. I was assistant teaching by 1998, and in 2005 I was given permission to teach on my own. In addition to small group classes, I offer private lessons.
