Acupuncture has been proven effective for every known ailment. But don’t take my word for it – read testimonials from my patients, or even better, try it for yourself! You will know it works when it works for you.
Acupuncture needles are very small and fine, very much thinner than hypodermic syringes. I use only sterile disposable needles.
When inserted, one can expect slight sensation, sometimes a little prick like a mosquito bite. Otherwise, the process is essentially pain-free. Needles are left in for about 20 minutes. One very common effect of needles is that they are surprisingly relaxing: many people fall asleep during treatment.
After the needles are removed, I often follow up with a few minutes of either medical massage or relaxation therapy, depending on the condition. After a treatment it is recommended that you allow the body to rest.
When: by appointment only. Appointments are available Tuesday through Saturday. For your convenience, evening and weekend hours are available. Call anytime and leave a message if I don’t answer right away. Please download and fill out the informed consent and Patient Health History and bring them with you on your first appointment.
Treatment duration First visit appointments include a full health-history and an acupuncture treatment. They can run about 60 minutes. Follow-ups are about 50 minutes.
Insurance Some insurance companies cover acupuncture services. I prefer patients to pay me directly and get reimbursed by their insurance companies. I will help with submission of claim forms if needed.
How many treatments It is very hard to say how many treatments will be needed to resolve the condition for which you seek treatment. Usually you will feel better after every session, but depending on the condition and how long you have had it, it can take several treatments to resolve. In addition, healing is an organic process, and though you may feel better after the treatment, it is common that symptoms might return. This is to be expected as each treatment leaves you feeling better and better.
Cancellation policy Cancellation must be made no later than 24 hours before a scheduled appointment, or you will be charged full-fee for a missed appointment.
Patient Confidentiality Strict patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
